Tennessee state representative votes to fire him and two others for 'assault on democracy'

In the Tennessee House of Representatives, Democratic state representative Justin Jones spoke out after participating in a gun control protest on the chamber floor last week before a vote on whether he and two other Democrats should be expelled. The protest comes days after a school shooting in Nashville left six people dead, including three children. Jones said, “We called on all of you to ban assault weapons, and you responded with an attack on democracy.
