Any questions about Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett’s arm strength were put to rest after he threw the first pitch against the Atlanta Braves.
The 2023 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away, and as it does every year, the focus is on the quarterbacks.
There is a very high probability that there are four quarterbacks in the top 10 in Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State’s CJ Strode, Florida’s Anthony Richardson and Kentucky’s Will Levis. But there are other big-name options that could be taken on the second and third days of the NFL draft. One of them could be former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback and back-to-back national champion Stetson Bennett IV.
For those who doubted Bennett’s arm strength, he pretty much silenced them on Thursday. Bennett was on the mound at Trust Park to throw out the inning. Atlanta Braves game against the San Diego Padres. And it threw an absolute heat!

Maybe this will increase Bennett’s draft stock? Maybe not, but it’s not going well for Bennett on the throw, especially since other football-related debuts like Travis Kelce haven’t gone so well.
Bennett will be 26 years old entering the 2023 NFL season, and stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 192-pounds. However, throughout his time at Georgia, especially over the past two seasons, he has shown he can play well in big moments.
This past season, Bennett helped lead the Bulldogs to a victory over Ohio State in the Peach Bowl and an upset over the TCU Horned Frogs in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
Last season, Bennett threw for 4,128 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 68.1 percent of his passes. Bennett rushed for 205 yards and 10 touchdowns on 57 carries.
The NFL draft takes place on Thursday, April 27 and ends on Saturday, April 29. In those three days, we should know which team Bennett will be playing for in the NFL.
