Sofiane Amrabat’s agent, Mohamed Sinoh, has invited interested parties, including Manchester United, to bid for his client as the summer transfer window opens.
United have temporarily explored a deal for Amrabat in January as a replacement for the injured Christian Eriksen.
A member of Amrabat’s entourage recently confirmed this, but the transfer did not materialise.
The midfielder was highly interested in the player from several European clubs during the summer transfer window due to his outstanding performance against Morocco in the World Cup.
The African nation’s run to the semi-finals was central to Morocco’s success.
Sinouh confirmed to Cora Plus via Sportwitness that the Red Devils had indeed made a request for Amrabat, but Fiorentina chose to keep the 26-year-old’s services.
“Yes, we received more than one offer last summer, including a request from Manchester United, but the negotiations were not completed at the time.”
“We do not currently have any offers for Sophia’s breeding.”
But Fiorentina welcomed the player’s departure after rejecting offers in the summer transfer window, especially after a promise from the club’s president.
Amrabat’s contract at the Serie A club expires in 2024 and the player will not sign an extension due to the interest of clubs such as United and Barcelona.
It makes sense for Fiorentina to sell the player in the summer when they can cash in on his exit.
United will no doubt be in the market for midfield additions, so Ambarat is one for fans to keep a close eye on.
