'No place in the classroom with our students': Substitute teacher fired after students posted photo of him teaching with N-word scrawled on whiteboard.

A Las Vegas substitute teacher has been fired for writing the N-word on the whiteboard in Silvestri Junior High School’s classroom.

After a photo of the board circulated on social media, the district decided the individual was no longer employed.

Akiko Cooks, co-founder of the company that operates the page, said in A Interview She was “not surprised” to see the footage with local station Fox 5.

“He was very comfortable and bold enough to actually write that on the whiteboard for the students to see and send a very direct message to the students that it’s okay to be condescending and racially insensitive,” Cooks said.

As of Tuesday, April 11, Tippetts issued a statement to parents informing parents that the school administration has “launched an investigation into a matter involving racially motivated communication.”

“The administration will continue to communicate with you about these situations as it takes the entire Silvestri Junior High School community to condemn these actions,” the principal promised.

“Based on the findings of the investigation, I assure you that appropriate action will be taken against those responsible,” the statement continued. “Furthermore, I want you to know that this is not allowed in our school or school district.”

“We will not tolerate behavior that is contrary to an inclusive community and affects the interests of our students,” Tippetts wrote.

The Clark County School District took swift and permanent action on Tippetts’ statements.

Parents praised the district for taking the incident seriously.
