Marcus Rashford is undoubtedly Manchester United’s best player this season.
After scoring the only goal in last night’s win over Brentford, he recorded another impressive record as he recorded his tenth Premier League win of the season.
This is the most by a Manchester United player in a single season since Wayne Rooney scored 10 winning goals back in 2009-10.
Rashford has scored 15 goals in the Premier League this season, according to The Athletic, which is 36% of Manchester United’s goals. The second highest scorer for the Reds is Bruno Fernandes with 5 goals.
Since the start of 2023, Rashford has scored nine times in the league, a figure unmatched by any other player.
When asked if United were overly reliant on Rashford, Ten Hague replied: “Yes, it’s true, but we know other players can score as well.
“What you want as a team is to have two players who score more than 12 or 15 goals a season.”
This season is Rashford’s second highest number of shots in a season. In the 2015-16 season, he scored 16 goals and scored five times, resulting in a conversion rate of 31.3 percent.
He has had 72 shots this season and scored 15 times, a turnover rate of just under 21%.
Rashford has gone from warming the bench when England beat France in the quarter-finals of the World Cup to becoming the best striker in the league.
The Mancunian showed his heart in overcoming the upset of Qatar and has scored 20 times in all competitions.
Ten Haag praised his mindset, saying, “His attitude and thinking are bringing him a lot of growth and bringing a lot of joy to the team.”
He is the top goalscorer in a single season since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure, with 28 goals in all competitions so far.
Fernandes has scored 28 goals in the 2020-21 season, the same as Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2016-17.
With the Europa League and FA Cup games to go along with 10 more Premier League games, Rashford could surpass that number and become the top goalscorer since Ferguson’s retirement.
There is no doubt that Rashford will hold the key to United’s success this season. If they want to secure Champions League football next season, they will want the striker to stay close.
If you want to add more silverware to your collection this season, you’ll want Marcus Rashford to be in top form.
