Jojo Siwa responded to conservative commentator Candace Owens by saying she was lying about being a lesbian because “she’s desperate for attention.”
On April 4, Owens posted an approx. A six-minute clip From her podcast to Twitter, she discussed her views on Siwa. In the video, Owens said the 19-year-old star used her sexuality to focus, saying, “It’s a great way to reach out to the victim community.”
“By the way, I don’t believe Jojo Siwa is a lesbian. I want to make that clear. I believe she’s desperate for attention,” Owens said.
A few hours after Owens shared the video, Siwa responded briefly on Twitter.
“I haven’t watched the video yet….but if it has anything to do with your caption, respectfully take the blame,” Siwa wrote.
Reps for Siwa and Owens did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
Siwa, who was first known for her TV show and project with Nickelodeon In January 2021, she opened up about her sexuality to fans in two Tik Tok videos.
