Predicted Man United XI vs Leeds United: Marcel Sabitzer to start.

Marcel Sabitzer talks about his future at Manchester United and Bayern Munich and what his current situation looks like.

Just saying Sport Bild Reporter Tobi AltschäfflSabitzer, 29, went over a wide range of topics including the Premier League’s differences, Erik ten Haag, his summer plans, his future at United, the race for a place at Bayern and Thomas Tuchel.

The Austrian international has played at a high level since Christian Eriksen’s ankle injury worsened in mid-season after being signed on deadline day.

With Casemiro missing seven games through suspension since Sabitzer’s loan deal was completed, Erik ten Haag has taken advantage of the latter’s versatility and lined up Sabitzer in all midfield roles since February.

He has played 12 games for United in all competitions so far.

Sabitzer’s long-term stay at the Allianz Arena is under scrutiny with Bayern’s midfield options including Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goresca, Jamal Musiala, Ryan Gravenburg and most recently Konrad Leimer.

The contract in Munich expires in June 2025. Meanwhile, Oliver Can and Hasan Salihamidzic may see this summer as a good time to recoup the €16m they paid RB Leipzig for Sabitzer’s services two years ago.

In the interview, Sabitzer discussed the end of his loan deal in the Premier League and what will happen after the end of his six-month contract.

“United have made it clear it’s a project until the summer, then we’ll see. Until then I want to give everything here. It is an unconditional loan agreement. In the summer, the situation will be evaluated.

But I can say I found my place here. Now I know the Premier League and I can say that there is nothing better, stronger and harder. Every game is a struggle. It is the best league in the world. Once you play here, you’ll know it’s unbeatable.

“Obviously my thoughts are on United, especially with the confidence I got from Erik ten Haag – it’s very positive. But I’m not the only one who decides.

I will be a Bayern player from July 1, that’s my contract. There will definitely be a discussion with Thomas Tuchel. Nothing has been decided in either direction yet.

He has been asked about former Leipzig team-mate Konrad Leimer, who is set to join Bayern as a free agent this summer, and whether this move and filling in for Tuchel in midfield will encourage him to seek a permanent move.

“I have heard about Konrad Leimer for 1.5 to 2 years. It has nothing to do with me. In Munich, I experienced competition from Kimmich, Goretzka, Gravenbirch, Tolisso. I never hide and it doesn’t affect me in any way.

“At every top club there is competition. At United, it’s more extreme than in Munich. Here is McTominay, Eriksen, Casemiro, Fred and me. If I was afraid of competition, I would not have joined Bayern or United.

Sabitzer was then asked if Bayern’s new head coach had spoken to former Chelsea boss Tuchel and his general opinion of the Champions League winner.

“I haven’t had contact with him yet, but I have high regard for him as a coach. He is extremely meticulous and thinks about his game plan and training content all day long. He also plays attractive football. He is a great coach.”
