14 husky dogs that have been wandering for more than a month have been rescued in Pierce County

The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County says home surveillance cameras and residents in Ashford have seen large husky dogs roaming around their community.

Once reported to animal control, the 14 dogs were captured and brought to the Humane Society for care and food, now unable to fend for themselves.

The dogs, who range in age from 5 months to 5 years, arrived at the shelter scared and scared, but showed friendly signs to the staff.

However, with a recent intake, the cages at the Humane Society are now completely full and animals are flooding in, according to the Humane Society.

A total of 184 dogs are on hand which puts a strain on staff and resources.

Humane Society staff are working quickly to heal and restore the 14 cells so they can be adopted as soon as possible.
